The Black Keys are described as an American Blues-Rock duo. I don’t think Iman or I like ‘Blues’ per se but I suppose if you parfait it with rock we can at least be gracious enough to try. Iman already a fan and feeling pretty ill is willing to sacrifice for this bit, unlike me, who forced him to cover Eminem a few weeks ago on his own (thanks for that anyway- it would have made me sicker)
Interesting enough The Black Keys are no newbies, these 2, vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer/producer Patrick Carney, have been around for 10 years Again going in with my new, listen to them first theory.. I did tiptoe through their myspace.
To me, they’re a 70s jam band sounding hot mess. Maybe riding the retro rail? Jam Rock maybe? Yeah…sorry, again SNL has missed my boat. Again I’m forced to wonder when and if SNL will ever take a risk again. I’m thinking never, the cash just ain’t there.
So knowing full well that I’m to spend the evening with a band and an actor I really cant stand, I wonder if perhaps I should toss back a shot or something. But I wont, too straight edged. You get raw honesty, like it or not.. and this well, I don’t like.
For a duo there are 4 of them and I personally cant place it but Ive heard them before as another band, something from the 70s and something terrible and hash bar ish
Iman can remember when they were a duo and being the fashionista he is,

I cant seem to get past the repetition of the na na nah’s but to each his own.
