Since this summer, twenty-six 10-foot-tall guitars are decorating Sunset boulevard as a large art project called GuitarTown sponsored by Gibson. Each of these Les Paul guitar sculptures is celebrating a rock star (The Doors, Slash, KISS, Brian Wilson, Peter Frampton, Motley Crue, Jimi Hendrix…), or a music moment. They have been strategically placed on the Strip which is known for his concentration of rock clubs (The Viper room, The Whisky a GoGo, Key club, The Roxy…)
Next Monday, at 2 pm, Ozzy Osbourne will appear at the House of Blues on Sunset, to sign in person one of these art guitars, designed in his honor. I bet a lot of fans will gather to see the event!
Ozzy’s guitar was designed by Los Angeles photographer Nic Adams, and is, of course, all black, with the bloody silhouette of the Prince of darkness.
