In the last day in 2010 Maya Arulpragasam (M.I.A.) released a new Wikileaks insprired mixtape, VICKI LEEKX. She released this 36 minute sonic boom, non-profit, in a way to get ‘information’ out to the world. It opens with the lyrics “We leak the information to the public, and we defend ourselves against the inevitable legal and political attacks. Vicki Leekz: leak me.”
Produced by Diplo (my love), Switch, and Blaqstarr. This is M.I.A.’s second official mixtape after “Piracy Funds Terrorism, Vol.1”. Also a great comeback after the release of “Maya” failed to stimulate audiences comparing to her previous album. Regardless M.I.A. and her exceptional crew of producers were able to fashion a continually invigorating mix tape. Listeners are provoked to dance and would be a great track to play to keep any floor moving.
