“Down By The Water” is this weeks freebie on iTunes.
Yup, it sorta made me no longer love the band but its free for the taking.
Please keep in mind The Decemberists and Colin Meloy are amazing artists.
I am awed by their previous work and as a fan respect but cannot appreciate this new direction.
Doesn’t make me love what they have done any less, just saves me the hundred bucks to see them tour this new release.
The King Is Dead is due out January 18
If you were not a fan of The Rakes or Hazards of Love, perhaps you will love this.
Worth a free risk and if it introduces you to the past catalog of this formerly amazing bands then all the better… you can start a petition with me!
