Money Money Money: Alyson Camus Analysis The Forbes List Of Biggest Music Moneymakers

Who earned the most in music in 2010? Guess what, this year, a lot of the richest ones were women according to Forbes magazine, with Beyonce ahead with $87 million (Jay-Z made only $63 million!), then Britney Spears with $64 million, Lady Gaga with $62 million, Madonna with $58 million, Miley Cyrus with $48 million, and Taylor Swift with $45 million.

This is insane! Madonna and Britney Spears made this huge amount of money from perfumes and gym products since they did not have an album, nor did they tour this year.
and there are a few exceptions, for example U2 made $130 millions but they don’t count because they have to split the money into 4 parts, right? (editors note: I bet Bono gets more than his fair share)

But when you have that much money, what do you do? Well, Beyonce bought a $2 million Bugatti Grand sport for her husband, and he bought her a $20 million private island last year and spent $350,000 on Birkin Hermes bags for Christmas this year.

Like anywhere else, there is something wrong with the record industry when you see only a few people amassing so much even if they don’t even write their own music! Producer Soundz recently said in an interview that Beyonce isn’t writing her songs as she pretends. Whereas other bands are struggling, while working so hard and touring so much, and are facing an uncertain future because of the shape of the music business.
