Tristan Allen makes me heart gasp. Despite my sing along mentality I can (in metered doses) appreciate instrumentals but have a very high bar of expectation- and very low tolerance.
If ‘the hook’ cant bring me back vocally all there is is a web of sound to catch me if I wander.
This does it fantastically.
Released on Amanda Palmer’s 8ft Records, is Tristan’s maiden voyage.
Turning the piano into a vessel packed deep with emotion.
This music speaks without a word.
In the style of those long haired squares of days gone by Allen bands and flicks the keys like a telegraph, sending messages to all who will listen. You should absolutely listen.
At your hipster mojito party or your rooftop fondue or in the quite confines of your soul, this work will add a depth your shallow self may not want to expose.
I haven’t been this moved in a great while.
I don’t want to fist pump nor mosh or smash a wall.
I want to listen, there’s much to be heard.

Toss them a buck
And thank your lucky stars people actually still make music such as this
