Elton John’s Hits -Live On Stage…

The last coupla times i’ve seen Elton it has been stupifyingly boring. The big time artist playing Captain Fantastic And The Dirtbrown Cowboy from one end to the other, or huge chunks of failed artiastic statements like Peachtree Road and (lordhelpus) The Captaon And The Kid.

I think Elton is too savvy to not have been a little indifferent to the commercial indifference for his last coupla music. He saw it coming.

That is one thing.

Another is charging top dollar to make people sit through his playing of the fucking songs. There is really no excuse for it.

If John had done what he did with Leon Russell earlier this year: an intimate gig at the Beacon where the audience knew they were getting the Union, that’s one thing. but that aint this. It aint close. After getting nailed three times, me and my friend Sherry davis swore off.

But we are weakening.

Elton’s MSG gigs, going on sale at 11am, are dubbed “Greatest Hits -Live”. Enough for us to check the presale, where we were offered behind the stage at $50: or as I like to call it, go fuck yourself.

General sales are at 11am today, if I can get an IN FRONT OF THE STAGE at fifty bucks we’ll give him one more chance.
