The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Trader -All Wet -by Iman Lababedi

The third in the Narnia series of blown up fairy tales based on CS Lewis’ Christian allegories is easily the worst of the lot, although “Voyage Of the Dawntreader” is one of the best of the books.
Stuck on a giant Galleon, two of the Pevensies and cousin Eustace plus now King Caspian battle evil, a kinda weak evil, and Eustace turns into a dragon and on and on, and all the while a soundtrack of lush 18th century type orchestrations do nothing much in the background.
In one wondrously nonsensical scene, Lucy morphs into her sister Susan in the States at a party and “In The Mood” plays in the background and during the ending credits, the worst song in the world, Carrie Underwood’s unbearable “There’s A Place Out There for Us” drears on and on. that’s it for songs.
The 3D effects are pretty cool, the entire look is cool, but the entirety is a really bad bore of a movie and except for the pretty good Eustace Scrubs, Will Poulter, who seems to go from a petulance to born again piety by extending and deflating his nose, the acting is non existent. Lucy has lost her glow somewhere along the road..
Ps. Dawntreader  made $9M on Friday, half of what Prince Caspian made in 2008. Ergo, we might never get “the Last Battle”, the one we are all gagging for.
