Many many years ago Lennon mocked McCartney’s more melodramatic sentiments in a song introduction as “Now we’re gonna do hark the angels come”.
Forty years later, Sir Paul mocks himself with Fallon on Late Night. a different song, “Yesterday”. He uses the famous mock-up “scrambled eggs” line while Macca was thinking up what would be the correct lyric.
Macca takes the idea and runs with it tongue firmly in cheek and fallon stands there in awe.
