Personally, and without wishing to be disrectful or anything, if the godawful Laura Marling dumped me, I would be throwing a confetti in the air and shouting hosannahs on high.
Charlie Fink was less pleased and wrote The First Days Of Spring with wonderful lines like “This is the last song I’ll write while still in love with you…” Waaaah.
Reason enough to be glum, right?
But apparently not the only reason Charlie’s band, Noah And The Whale, I sorta Shiniy Belle with, if anything, better melodies. Because on the sexy come on “Wild Think”, off their upcoming album Last Days Of Earth, is still very fucking glum.
The album aint arriving till March so make do with it. Or as Fagin once put it (what can I tell you, I am in the spirit) “Shut up and drink your gin”.
