I haven’t written enough about Tom Jone’s superb Gospel album, Praise And Blame. It will absolutely make my best of the year with a bravado vocal performance by Jones, a million miles away from the pop sex star purring “What’s New Pussycat”.
Jones has recently said that he made the album as a tribute to his good friend Elvis Presley. The two singers would trade Gospel songs till the wee small hours and Presley had told Jones Jones should record a Gospel album.
It took awhile but it was worth it.
