I don’t really know how to feel about The Atari’s. The name is silly.
At times the vocals sound rather garbled almost marble mouthed.
But they have that addictive pop bass drum romance going on. A sound that inevitably makes me love a band. Its a fun song with an up beat clearly defined kick drum and a bass intro.. I’m pretty much sold.
So to see that there is new material made me curiously happy. Free streaming test drive made it worth the click.
Verdict
Winzilla.
The Atari’s are not going to change the world they will not open at MSG to a sold out stadium but they will in fact have longevity and a career. They’re happy they’re fun and they’re carefree. Something music needs a bit more of.
Seven Inch, and ep of two songs (am I missing something here?) is 50% wonderful 50% meh.
Wheres the rest of the ep? Two songs is a 45 in my book.
