Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, My Album of The Year – By Helen Bach

Dear My Chemical Romance,
I have been a bitch to you for far too long.  I have mocked your pretty boy looks and you’re absurd ‘hiatus’, your ridiculous duration ‘recording’ and now, I apologize.
Love Always,
Hel

Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is my album of the year.
Yeah you slid in late November just in time.  I was about to say 2010 sorta blowed.
But now?
Now I remember why I loved you guys to begin with.
The relentless sneer, the drum heavy back beat, the contagious lyric…
 Guys, you still got it.
Out of context “Sing” left me flat, within the confines of its proper forum, its anthemic.  Its a rally cry and its empowering.
So whats my rave about it track?  “Bulletproof Heart”.  The title alone is perfection.  The lyrics are outstanding and the musical accompaniment is melodic and powerful.
Come to think of it this entire release is just that.  There is no ‘weak’ song.  These are screamable powerful songs, that are just pop enough to get these guys some air play.  I’m loving the tambourine action as well.
I have always been a My Chem fan, Gerard’s voice is so unique, so desperate and that has not changed in the slightest.
This is not “Black Parade”.  There is a maturity but there is a reach back as well.  Simple almost 60s inspired choruses can potentially reel in an older crowd.
What I’m getting at here is the new release from My Chemical Romance was more than worth the wait.  I hate waiting but there are times when I have to straight up admit I should sit down, shut up and read a book.
You cant rush something like this.
My volume control cant go high enough, my feet cant stomp hard enough, my heart cant pound hard enough, my my lungs cant sing loud enough.
I am absolutely overpowered by this recorded adventure
