Black Friday is coming up, a day most people spent in overcrowded malls, buying stuff they will probably never use, just because they are on sale,
But this year, Indie stores have come up with an alternative to all this craziness as they will be the place to go to get special releases, either very limited or available before anywhere else. This follows two years of “Support Your Record Store” which saw sales in a week more than an average month for many ma and pa stores. Earlier this year it included exclusive releases for the Stones and Blur’s first single in nearly a decade.
This Black Friday s these precious releases include ‘Wide awake in Europe’, a U2 limited edition EP of 3 songs recorded live, featuring ‘Mercy’ recorded on September 22nd in Brussels, ‘Moment of Surrended’ and ‘I’ll go crazy if I don’t go crazy tonight’.
Only 5,000 copies are gonna be for sale, so obviously, it’s a deal, or may be another of these meaningless items you can get on a black Friday.
Other releases include Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Metallica, the Gaslight Anthem, the Black Keys, Grinderman, the Doors, Iron and Vine, George Harrison, Bruce Springsteen, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, among many others.
