The Allman Brothers Back At the Beacon

After a year Uptown, the Allman Brothers are back at the Beacon for next March Madness, restarting a twenty year tradition.
I went one year and left in the middle of an interminable drum solo though I hadn’t hated it till then. That was maybe 10 years ago and my taste in jam music is a touch more developed now.
As reported by New York Times (the quotes, calling Dolan loathsome is all me) at the press conference yesterday, the loathsome James Dolan heaped praise on Gregg Allman and the band, not unlike being French kissed by the devil is my bet, “If I was stranded on a desert island and there was only one piece of music that I could have, that would be it “Live At Filmore East”, when I was, I think, about 17, 16 years old, basically shook my soul. I had never heard anything like that before.I think I can hum those solos straight through. I’m not going to do it for you now.”
Dolan’s President Of Entertainment, Jay Marciano,  added: “Earlier this year we undertook a programming experiment with our friends from Cirque du Soleil. We all know how that little experiment turned out. My dad used to say, ‘Son, it takes a big man to admit when you’re wrong.’ So to our friends in the Allman Brothers, we’re wrong. We apologize and we’re thrilled that you’ll be back again with us this spring at the Beacon Theater.”

I wish Dolan felt half as bad over his destruction of the New York Knicks, as he does over the fucking Allman brothers having to play United Palace last March.

The asshole.
