Mix master GirlTalk recently released a new cd, All Day.
If you like Girl Talk or just like pop saturated hip/hop mash ups you’ll surely like All Day and best part is, it’s $free.99!! But to reiterate, this is his most pop filled cd to date, straying from old school hits( very few), Motown jams, (short Jackson 5 tribute), and most genres besides hip/hop, ( we got Weezy, Andre 3000, and many many songs/artists i only know from radio and bad DJ sets at whack bars.) I enjoyed his older “trip down memory lane” mash ups a bit more. But anything new is exciting in it’s own way.
He mixes Lil Jon’s crunk shouting with Simon and Garfunkles classic ‘Celia’ off Bridge Over Troubled Water. It works enough to not suck, so props for somehow managing to pull that one off.
The good mash ups are great, like track 1,4,9 and 12; the ok ones, pretty subpar. If you decide to download cd as single stream, you’re like WTF are you talking tracks for, cause then theres only one.
