Dance 4 Liberation is hosting the “D4L Autumn Creatures Fashion Show” tomorrow night at Projekte, a local art center and cultural melting pot located in downtown Wilmington, NC. D4L is a local Wilmington event company, which like 4TheLove, donates a percentage of its earning to a wide variety of charities. For this event, The Autumn Creatures Fashion show will be giving a percentage of the door money to SETA (Students for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). SETA is an animal welfare organization at UNCW which serves to end the cruelties animals endure in factory farming, the clothing trade, entertainment, and laboratories. They petition local and nationwide inhumanities and also raise money for local shelters. In the past they have giving to ECO, a UNCW org. that works to fight global warming, animal cruelty, and other environmental injustices.
I’m not surprised at all, but I just am so down with people of our young generation, standing up, being active, and working hard for things they believe in. I dig it!
Buut, how could you possibly Dance 4 Liberation without some rad music? D4L, and all those in attendance, have the lucky privilege of a completely GOLDEN night, thanks to DJ and mix master David Adusei aka GOLDEN. (You like that? I said “Golden night”, and his name is Golden.. get it. He performed his original set LIVE at 4TheLove Fest in October, and if you didn’t read about it, let me just tell you now. He fucking rocks! Its a bit poppy, very raw, very unique, and perfect to dance and jam out to. On the mic, on the keyboards, on his macbook, he’s all over the place, and its majestic.)
