A Raincoat Will Never Let You down

The Raincoats are playing at the Museum Of Modern Art Saturday at 830p as part of the Pictures by Women: A History of Modern Photography.

The seminal alt experimental rock band of the early 80s, played one of the most memorable concerts I’ve ever seen, at the Kitchen. It was definitely taped and it still exists somewhere (has been released). The highlight? A brilliant version of Sly Stone’s “Running Away”.

I interviewed them, and got pretty drunk with them, before the show, at grassroots.

And I went to the after party where the drummer and I were the only guys there and they were handing out brownies. And I hadn’t eaten all day and it sure would helped if somebody had warned me they were spiked.

I ended up comatose in an armchair at four am in the morning.

If I can get to the concert Saturday, it won’t end that way again.
