It doesn’t happen much but when it does I want to scream
Finally, Finally I have found the best band you haven’t heard of .. yet. But if you have heard of them, then you shouldn’t be reading this you should be out on street corners screamin their name.
Viva La Social Network, Why is it that so much crap is jammed down our throats that we become so hardened that we miss something as wonderful as Mr. Spoon? Silly name really is it a heroin reference or maybe like me someone who enjoys soup?
I love the bass heavy grungy filthy basement sound. Its got that dark element that draws me like a flame it sounds dirty and dangerous. The vocals fluctuate from a early Jam Weller to an almost eerie dark .
I never ever listen to the top track on a myspace. I don’t know why maybe its like taking that weird slice of end bread. So I started with Sam’s Moter… and nearly doubled over. What a freakin fantastic song.
The vocals on this are slightly distorted but the bass makes me want to dance on a desk. As we know that’s the highest compliment I can offer. If you have only 4 min to offer a new band I suggest this. A unique and powerful song with enough punch to make you forget how incredibly square you really are.
I’m on about my 4th listen and I only discovered the band about a half hour ago.
“The Present” and “The Calling” both have that opium den sort of dim light feel. Totally makes me feel like I’m doing something corrupt. Actually I want” The Calling” to be used in the soundtrack of my life cuz its so fucking beast. Take that you arty hipster bastards, this is what real alternative underground sounds like. Uncatagorized, no cliche’ in your face rock music.
Sweet Jesus (who does exist) finally something to love again!
So now here’s the sad part. They’re in Wales.
See I have this 2.5 hour commute limit for shows. Totally out of my time frame.
So until they get here I’ll have to make love to the ‘replay’.
