Denver is becoming a hotbed of activity recelently. here comes another band with a Colorado high though this oddly mainstreamly weird two piece seem a lot more urban to me.
Signed to Fat Possum and therfore pals with the likes of Sonny And the Sunsets, they are well edfined by the cover art of their first album, Cape Dory, with Alaina Moore’s come hither pix out of step with her face and expression. As if what she really was was something not being seen.
Of the songs I’ve heard so far, “Marathon” and ” “Baltimore” are very good, and “When You Walk Into The Room” a highly indicative cover choise. But “Take Me Somewhere” is pretty special, a nursery rhyme circular melody is haunted by a 50sish vocal.
