Karen Anne is such a sweet girl, watching her lead her band Ramona on the videos on youtube is a little disconcerting.
A dynamite acoustic cover Pulp’s “Common People” finds her leaning against the wall, near the door of an apartment, while Ramona’s other sex symbol, Charlie, nails the famous riff all strum and fringe.
Sure, it’s the highlight here. But a blast of pure sweeps thru their cover of Blue Boys bluesy “Remember Me” filmed live in my hometown Manchester, England. Tight head shot of Karen in black and white (I took the pix above from it) for a verse and a chorus, then it pulls back.
There is “How Long” as well and “Steve McQueen” and more. And till we get the first album, Ramona, next year it will do.
As for Karen, she is a rock and roll hearthrob in the making… if Charlie doesn’t beat her to it!
