We now have formal proof that Jennifer Chiba has been a licensed therapist since 1995, that she had taken first aid and that she had to be fully aware of what happens when you take a knife out of a wound.
A colleague of hers confirmed me all this yesterday:
‘I cannot stress this enough: Anyone who takes a Basic First Aid class, even the people who sleep through it, are scared straight from any idea of removing an impaled object of any kind. It creates a second trauma and increases the bleed. You leave it in and wrap it to staunch the bleeding. This is particularly stressed in training for clinicians who work with children!!!’

When entering Jennifer Chiba’s name, the information related to her therapist license says that she had an art therapist license from June 28, 1995 to June 30, 2001 that was then canceled, and a second therapist license from October 25, 2005 to October 31, 2011, which is thus still valid.
3000 hours of supervised clinical training are required in order to qualify for the state exam, and this is what probably happened with her first license. She could not collect enough hours at that time to keep her license.
I also learned that she is a post grad from Loyola Marymount MFT program which specializes in art therapy, and that she worked with children as an Art Therapist under the Marriage and Family pre-license.
Her colleague could not be clearer, there is a lot of emphasis on not removing an impaled object when treating young children, and Chiba was working with children.
“Usually, first aid is mandated each year for Art Therapist, and even without knowing exactly if it was the case for her, she would not have been able to work without this training.”
With this information, Jennifer Chiba is at least guilty of criminal negligence. We request the LAPD formally question Chiba.
