Currently streaming on michaeljackson.com, the first song, “Breaking News”, and despite its naff opening, talking heads about how the press was eating him alive, and despite the chorus, “everybody wants a piece of michael jackson”, this is a real good dance number.
Oldfashioned? Sure, new jack as opposed to Chicago House for sure, but the rhythm is a percolating knock out, and it is all 127, maybe a bit slower, bpms.
The vocals are nothing much, the product all under thrall to the drum machine, and the MJness awful, for this biz ressurrection. But with lower expectations comes easier to reach aspirations than on, say, “This Is It”.
I bet they have more Mjey MJ out there, but I got no complains with this at ll.
