What? I have just seen them a month ago and Arcade Fire is set for another tour early next year? It was announced that after their British tour, which it is about to begin and will end in mid-December, more dates in Spring 2011 could follow. And there is even more surprises as Will Butler (Win’s brother), who was speaking at the Northwestern University in Chicago, said they will have new material for these spring dates:
Butler declared to the Wall Street Journal:
‘We’re going to experiment this winter. We’re not quite sure what we’re doing in February, but January and March we’ll probably be off. We’ve never successfully written or done anything really in a middle of a touring cycle. We’re going to see if we can maybe get into a different rhythm besides the tour, tour, tour, rest, rest, rest, tour, tour, tour, rest, rest, rest. We’re going to see if we can intertwine them a little bit. We’ll definitely be touring next spring because the weather will be nicer to drive around in the springtime than the winter.’
Many bands compose new songs while touring, Radiohead do it for example, almost every band does it, but the idea of more Arcade Fire concerts to come very soon was quite unexpected…and, they will also appear on Saturday Night Live this coming November 13th.
