Elvis Presley Live-er Than you’ll Ever Be In 1955

if I had $750 this is what I would do with it: I would buy The Complete Elvis Presley Masters -every song the King ever recorded over 30 CDs.
But since I’m not I went in search of a song I hadn’t heard of, Presley covering ”Maybelline” on an acoustic guitar with every ounce of fucking country thrown out the window -it ain’t even r&b, this is rock like his grandkids, folks like Titus, play today.
The solo is just awesome (wait till you hear), and the song is a bitch to sing (BB King once mentioned how much trouble he had singing it) and you can hear Presley take a quick breath before reaching the high note when he catches up to “maybelline” at the top of the hill. The other song with it “Tweedled’ is a rock novelty song and fun but Presley singing Chuck Berry is, perhaps needless to say, exactly why I write about music.
It’s because this stuff changes your life if you let it in.
