My Fave Tracks, Sunday, October 31st, 2010 -by Iman Lababedi

1. Blood’s Sake – Veelee – Odessa owner Paul Finn dubbed the album The Future Sight one of the years 10 best. This song reminds me of a very lo-fi version of Paul’s band the Kingsbury Manx -so, of course, Paul is right.  I’ll get around to the rest of the album (ep? 7 tracks) at some point.
2. Tell Her – Ramona – The opening is purloined from “Heart Of Glass” but the rest of the song is more Auto-American without the big percussion.  Karen’s vocal is excellent.
3. Since We Last Met – Banjo Or Freakout
4. Laser Never Come Around – Le Sera – One of Vivian Girls strikes out and comes up with an acoustic, more melodic VG. Alright by me.
5. Hindsight – Built To Spill – They might rock hard live but here they’ve just walked out of a Tremelos video.
6. We’ve Got A Situation Here – The Damned Things
7. Monster – Kanye West – Yeah, yeah, Halloween. Has to be Halloween when i do what I did the other day -claim the single version is inferior to the TGIF version when THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME. Anyway, not the best song off this batch of West releases, that would be “Runaway”, but the best raps (especially Jay-Z) and best tracks.
8. Fred Astaire – the So So Glos – By the time you read this I will have seen em at Hammerstein!!
9. Come On, Let’s Go – Girl in A Coma
10. Call Me – Blondie – Ramona should call in Moroder for the remix of “Tell Her”.
