Punk Goes Pop 3 is coming out soon, and the songs up on the Myspace are incredible beyond belief.
Asking Alexandria’s cover of “Right Now” (originally by Akon) is ten times better than the original. The screaming mixed in is just right, without being over done. They certainly made it their own, but they didn’t make it annoying. Probably one of my favourite covers I’ve heard in a while.
Mayday Parade’s cover of “In My Head”, the original by Jason Derulo, is jaw-dropping. When I heard it, i not only was happily surprised, but hit the repeat button. Mayday Parade, I think, is the only band that could ever pull this off. The song is super catchy, while the original is repetative and gets on my nerves. Mayday makes this tune not only tolerable, but pleasurable.
I cannot wait until November 2nd and this CD comes out.
