Tom Robinson’s Band “Martin”:What I Am Listening To Write This Minute -by Iman Lababedi

A singalong about filial adoration from the New Wave London gay pride band from the 70s Tom Robinson.
Violent, East End (take in the accent), working class, lovely and caring for all it’s toughness.
Annnnd…
Robinson gets sent to away after joy riding with his brother and smashing into an XJ-6. Robinson punches a cop while Martin makes his get away. When Tom gets out of “remando” his brother Martin has painted his room, got him a job and Robinson is nearly in tears. “You can get a little bit hard” inside, Tom admits and maybe that’s the greatest gift Martin gives his brother. Tom goes inside and Martin keeps his humanity.
Just chords being strummed on an acoustic guitar. Storytelling worthy of aRay Davies. Who loved tom as well.
