Released today is the Michael Jackson soundtrack album This Is It and as predicted it is a waste of money and you should keep your sheckles for the new Govt Mule.
However there is a $6.99 six track EP and this is good value for money. Two versions of the title track and four demo tracks, none of which are important. The dance tracks are completely useless, nobody needs to place the bass track front and center -we always heard the “Wanna Be Stratin’ Something” hook and the “Planet Earth” is execrable. But the “She’s Out Of My Life” with just an acoustic guitar is absolutely gorgeous and worth the price of admission alone. The demo version of “This Is It” is much prettier than the orchestral version and proves the song to be a minor work in a major artists career.
So figure since you can’t buy it by song you are paying $6.99 for a $2.60 value. I did it…
