According to NME, the Pavement gig in Vegas at Matador 21 may be the end of the great reunion till the next time Malkmus needs money. Apparently the band members weren’t speaking to each other during the set and one point Malkmus claimed “One day you will be happy you were here”.
Let’s be honest. If in months and months of touring they couldn’t come up with one new songs, the chance of this reunion being anything BUT a money shot was non-existence.
And why shouldn’t the band make money off their back catalogue. They were pretty good at Central Park and it’s their music. What else should they do with it?
