Gimme That Old Time Religion
Music and religion go together like peanut butter and jelly.
Some churches based only on their music. Bible thumpin hand clapping arm waiving praise the Lord good times.
Some cultures bang drums, others shake sticks others raise their voices. Loud and strong so that the divinity can hear their praise, their prayers their love.
Think what you will about God and what he/she/it is. Trust me when I tell you there is a greater being than us. Be that entity true or imagined, alien or hazed.
You ain’t the top of the food chain.
I’m sorry.. you’re just not.
Regina Spektor has an amazing song called “Laughing at God”, the lyrics are the most accurate spot on snapshot of how we as society treat our Deity.
Go ahead and use science go ahead and be an atheist but mark my word when you are down really down.. you will either internally or externally yell for help.
Help from above.
In a world of hate and anger screaming fighting corruption dirty politics backstabbing out doing out running underhanded deceitful distorted and spiteful words actions and thoughts, we sometime just hit the wall.
There is only so much we can take.
I offer you a divine playlist. Songs that you aren’t going to hear in your houses of the holy. But modern day musicians trying to make their flocks understand the unexplainable.

Listen.. we all go through crap. Worship a lampshade if you want. Believe in something greater than yourself. Live your life as best you can, find joy in the little things. Do a crazy dance.. go to bed. Today is a brand new day. Make it great.
