My Fave Tracks, Friday, October 1st, 2010 by Iman Lababedi

This is what happens when somebody mentions Conor to me. I spent the day listening to Bright Eyes.
1. June On The West Coast – He can’t write like this any more. he lost his emotional nakedness, everything is too writerly today. I still love his writing but there is no denying his professionalism.
2. Train Under Water – On Ludlow Street, this is one of the great New York songs. He left New York? What the fuck was he thinking of.
3. Tourist Trap – Just to hear it is to remind me of a girl i really, really love. “There are people here but you are again…”
4. Take It Easy (Love Or Nothing) – Conor becomes a callow loverboy.
5. If The Brakeman Turns My Way – This Bright Eyes? Goooone.
6.A Perfect Sonnet – Oooh, he hasn’t written like this in over, er, three years but it ounds older.
7. Lua – well, why not? Made a believer of Simone back in the day
8. Saturday As Usual – Yeah, he won’t be doing this if he Bright Eyes tours though he should.
9. Let’s Not Shit Ourselves – Overwhelms Lifted.
10. I Must Belong Somewhere – Leave me here.
