Which means sales must be up some 30% since anybody who actually buys tracks knows what they are actually buying is $1.39.
In other words the 680M dowloads meant t $680M bucks last last year and now it must be north of $900M.
And this is a win for…. Apple.
Though a 30% increase in revenue may bring a smile to record companies wallets, if they can’t sell more music they are gonna stagnate and fast. the last thing they want.
Put it this way, if sales fall anywhere else, what the hell will the record companies be selling?
Incidentally, the cost of the digital album is hovering between $11 and $15 and you can officially put a fork in one the biggest selling point of digital: its cheapness. Please tell me how you can remove all distribution and manfacturing rates and not save the consumer a fucking penny?
And we shouldn’t shouldn’t file share on this thieving scum because…?
