Pretty Lights, aka Derek Vincent Smith, has reached the ONE MILLION DOWNLOADS of the free EPs he puts up on his website while selling out every concert he plays.
Is this paradign for the brave new world of music distibution. It is certainly one of them. But be sure of one thing, Derek isn’t merely talented, he is also very very luck. As is the millionth download who got invited on a VIP trip to watch the Pretty Lights in Las Vegas.
How do these things happen? How could word of mouth have spread like this!!
Anyway, Pretty Lights are playing New Year’s Eve in Chicago with Holy Fuck! and Major Lazer and are currently touring but nowhere near me so fuck him.
