Ane Brun’s “The Dancer”: What I Am Listening To Right This Minute

Ane Brun is a Scandivanian singer songwriter folkie style and she doesn’t merely having an opening slot on Ani Difranco’s tour, she is also releasing her first four albums here.
Yeah, I find that weird as well but one thing is sure, her cover of PJ Harvey’s classic but hysterical “The Dancer” gets a perfect and subdued, deeply yearning cover on her Live In Scandinavia album.
The thing is, she honors the melody by singing it deeply but softly and by the end? The cello comes in and the feeling of a palpitating want is like Hannah Arendt’s description of the will like waves banking on the shores and subsiding.
I will be sure to check her out further.
