My mother used to say that truly creative people, those with the most active minds were those who would make themselves insane.
She claimed that these are the people who turned to drugs or alcohol to numb the activity in their brains. She pointed out Poe and and musicians as points of reference.
Looking at our posts of late I cant help but reflect back to those kitchen table conversations.
My mom a huge Beatle fan who was old enough to know better and bobby soxed her way to the hearts of people like Gene Krupa (who was freakin like 25 years older than her, much to my disgust) and Vic Damone (yo mom rhymes with Ramone! woot woot.. mother daughter rap!) grew up to be a smart witty and very insightful mother.
Looking at Courtney and Amy and Russel, as just a handful of those we have covered these past few days makes me stop to wonder if maybe she was right.
What creative flow can actually forces us to want to shut off our brain?
I consider myself a self depreciating paranoid girl but I’m also very much a straight edge.
Square huh? But I can drive you home safely so be glad you know me. For the record I always was. My lack of substance abuse rooted firmly in my paranoia of making an ass of myself. I can do that quite well sober.
Can I get a grammar check here?
Some of the most creative and brilliant artists of our time were the biggest foaming at the mouth train wrecks of all time- Lets make a wasted play list….just for laughs.
1- Sid Vicious “My Way”, today I killed a cat…. Sid was amazing. I loved everything about him right to the little track marks up his arm

3- Jim Morrison- “The End”- ‘father? yes son.. ‘ what a waste.
4- Iggy Pop (Stooges) “Five Foot One”- The king of skin poppin’! Still got the creepys and cant keep his shirt on. Great song, and he’s 5″4′ btw.
