HURRAY No Doubt! 9 songs in the can for a new lp due out 2011!! Please note that I am saying they actually have recorded songs!
In anticipation of this they will be releasing a semi sorta ‘best of’ redux titled “Icon”. Although it will have the same track list as 2003’s Singles Collection, it will have new artwork and a lower price…huh? Wonder what that will be
“With the band recording a new record for next year we felt it was a good idea to remind everyone of the great music No Doubt has made over the years. We feel the Icon release of No Doubt’s greatest hits is an extremely low cost way to turn a lot of new people on to the band’s great music,” said the band’s manager Jim Guerinot.
I have to agree. No Doubts music is timeless and live, is fantastic. Gwen alone is fantastic.
There is a dynamic in this band that feels so right, its a family in a sense and that level of comfort is very much evident in their live show.
Yes Gwen is the frontster, but the band is not shrouded, they’re not backing her up. They’re a group. I love that.
