Cee Lo Green On Top By Himself by David Muehlenkamp

Obviously Cee Lo Green is not a new artist. In fact, he has seen lots
of success being a part of groups Goodie Mobb and Gnarls Barkley (the
latter of which he was nominated for a Grammy). However, after years of
pursuing a career as a solo artist, Cee Lo finally made it through with
his first big hit “Fuck You.” rock nyc review it here weeks ago and you can find the video if you go to labels.

Cee Lo holds a special place in my heart because he happens to own my
favorite voice in pop music. It is powerful enough to break windows yet
smooth enough to put you in the mood for some good ol lovin. It’s
gospel enough to give you goose bumps when he hits those high notes and
pop enough to keep you moving on the dance floor. Hands down, the most
effortless voice in the biz.
I’m really happy for Cee Lo. I saw one interview recently where he
talks about his first major success as a solo artist and dude is humble
as pie. He has been down and he picked himself back up, and then some.
When he was kicked out of Goodie Mobb, their next album was titled “One
Monkey Don’t Stop the Show.” Sorry Goodie Mobb, turns out Cee Lo Green
is the show.

Cee Lo Green’s new album, Cee-Lo Green is the Lady Killer, is available now and make sure you catch him at Moogfest 2010 in Ashville, NC at the end of October.
