After a godawful performance at Governor’s Island during which the clinically insane but terribly talented MIA spat at the photographers in the pit and walked off after half an hour late, MIA tweeted that she would make up for the shambles with a free concert next time she’s in town, her she comes back in town and, as brooklynvegan reports, no concert.
Apparently MIA’s mom can’t get a visa to come to the States -a state of affairs I find not merely questionable but probably untrue. The day Edgar Bronfman can’t get a visa for his daughter-in-laws mother is the day they outlaw influence of any sort in the States. this is bullshit of a high order.
Anyway, as noted above, MIA refuses to put on a free concer SHE PROMISED TO PUT ON, till her mom gets a visa.
What has one got to do with the other? Where the hell is the quid pro quo here? In reality, MIA is a lazy, ignorant headcase and therefore a more or less perfect rock star and a very talented woman who is simply horrible.
She is the female Lou Reed.
