Ezra Koenig Sings Paul SImon by Alyson Camus

The upcoming movie ‘Ceremony’ directed by Max Winkler (Henry Winkler’s son) tells the what-it-seems-déjà-vu story of a young man (Michael Angarano) who falls in love with an older woman (Uma Thurman) and tries to break up her wedding.
I got intrigued by it because of the soundtrack which will feature ‘Papa Hobo’ a Paul Simon’s song (from his 1972 solo album), arranged by rock legend Van Dyke Parks (best known for his work on ‘Smile’ with Brian Wilson) and sung by none other than Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig!

What can I say? After all these comparisons between Vampire Weekend and Simon’s Graceland, you would think Koenig would avoid this kind of cover, but no he is daring the critics! I can’t wait to listen to the result.
At the top of this, The Shins guitarist Eric D. Johnson has scored the movie and the soundtrack has also contributions from Ringo Starr, Pete Townshend, Kate Bush, and The Animals.
