I began rock nyc back in April 2009 and have published essentially without cessation since than, though sometimes you gotta wonder why. 2014 should be a fun year, with a music publishing and digital distribution company to begin conducting business. I am very proud that we never stop publishing; vacations, illness, days off are for wimps! We don’t even cut back on holidays.
But this year rock nyc’s co-editor Helen Bach and Senior Writer Alyson Camus are taking a well deserved break from the unbelievable task of constantly daily writing for years and years on end. They won’t be taking a long break and will be back at it on January 3rd, 2014, still it will be odd to take rock nyc back to its blogging roots for ten days (though you won’t feel Helen’s absence till Wednesday); I will do all the writing myself. I’ll remain at the same level of output but it will cut us from 10 to 6 post a day for the next ten days.
I would like to thank all our readers, while we are small, we have had over a million readers over the years and we have done this simply through the writing, no faking readership or viewers, just music reviewing. I appreciate you spending your time with us. Over 150,000 repeat visitors!

Also, my thanks to Mary Magpie our youngest writer who has gone from a child to graduating High School this year with rock and whose energy never flags and ears seldom fail her.
Also Paula Iwamoto-Schaap whose perspective is entirely unique and Margaret Conlan Mullen, a real music person. Steve Crawford is an old style rock critic as well as being a handsome devil, who would have fit right into Creem and is a stand out here.
My rock nyc LLC partners are John Pasquale, a remarkable gentleman whose generosity and positive spirit is a true inspiration. Joseph Franklyn McElroy and Donna Mcelroy are business people who have ignored their business acumen and pursued their business instincts in remaining true to rock nyc and myself for years. Joseph is a true friend and a great man and Donna’s (who has been ill for a while now) bravery in the face of fear and pain is a gift to all of us. She is the soul of rock nyc.
Helen Bach is the heart of rock nyc. There is an old saying “if it’s easy where’s the trick” and Helen makes not just rock nyc but life itself feel easy. Without Helen there is no rock nyc.
OK, guys, back to deciding where Beyonce should be on 2013’s Top 10 albums!!!
