Re-Imagining Gershwin – Brian Wilson – Splits down the midle. A failure but a good one.
God Willin’ & The Creek Don’t Rise – Ray LaMontagne & the Pariah Dogs
– Too tasty by half, but deeply felt in it’s own musically boring way.
Pauper’s Field – Dylan LeBlanc – Young singer-songwritersells you on his voice.
The Switch Soundtrack – Two songs by Eels, bot are pretty good.
Root for Ruin – Les Savy Fav – Far be it from me, etc but art punk needs more melodies. In other words: pretensious when it should be smart.
The Longest EP – NOFX – Revs up nicely but these outtacks, etc is not for starters and I’m a starter.
Foundling – David Gray – I am sure there is a whole worlda people that can stomach this bland crap folkie stuff. Not me.
No Better Than This – John Mellencamp – Mellencamp is to Springsteen what Tom and Jerry is to the Marx Brothers. Terrible.
The Final frontier – Iron Maiden – Well, it isn’t pretenscious but it isn’t much else.
Beneath It All – Hey Monday – Big influence? Hayley Williams.
