I was never sold on Harrison as a sitarist. Certainly, if you compare some of Ravi’s own work with Harrison’s Western Eastern Blue Jay Way-y, it is hard to take Harrison very seriously.
Still, since it is a very expensive, limited edition deal the point is probably moot but if you are really interested into Ravi Shankar’s playing start with The Concert For Bangaldesh (it starts with him funning the white teens for aplauding the tune up before the set starts) and then try the 1997 Chants of India, these are religious chants and very lovely
But you’re not really interested, are you?
