My Fave Tracks, Monday, August 16th by Iman Lababedi

1. Miss The Mississippi And You – Rosanne Cash – Written by Billy Halley, made popular by Jimmie Rodgers, I coulda sworn I’d heard Merle Haggard cover this on The Peer Sessions but nope. It sounds like he might have. And, after ragging on Rosanne fairly mercilessly for years now, this cover stands up to the many, many, many versions out there.
2. That’s How Strong My Love Is – Bottle Up And Go – Heartbreak and true love songs: they both gain momentum through empathy.
3. The Suburbs (Cont) – Arcade Fire – one of Wim’s finest moments.
4. Say Yes – Elliott Smith
5. Rhapsody In Blue (Intro) – Brian Wilson
6. See Me Now (Feat Beyonce and Charlie Wilson) – Two songs in and it is digging tape and the rhymes are hysterical -but I am waiting for somethingwith a bit more… depth?
7. Bad Kid – The Black Lips
8. Hey Cool Kid – Cool Nothings – The world is filled with kids and revolution is in the air.
9. Hard Night Out – Proffessor Green – This guy is terrific, should break Stateside shortly… you can’t go to a Karoake bar, well, a cool one, without hearing him.
10. Dark Tower – Miniature Tigers
