Morrissey’s Top 13 Albums

In honor of Friday 13th, NME got Morrissey to choose his Top 13 albums. And rock nyc, being your full service music blog, stole it and here it is. The comments are our own:
Jobriath – ‘Jobriath’  – uh oh, I don’t know it. But it’ll get better I promise.

Jeff Buckley – ‘Grace’ – Like Moz, it took me awhile to get used to Jeff’s voice. Actually, it took seeing him in performance. Oddly, it sounds a bit cliched now.

The Smoking Popes – ‘Born To Quit’ – Guess he means the Chicago punk band.

Damien Dempsey – ‘Seize The Day’ – Irish folk singer

Roxy Music – ‘For Your Pleasure’ – Their best album?

The Velvet Underground – ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’ – loved Nico.

The Velvet Underground – ‘White Light/White Heat’ -World changer

Sparks – ‘Kimono My House’ – Sounded like novelty but wasn’t.

Iggy & The Stooges – ‘Raw Power’ – Idda go with an earlier one but his’ll do fine if you insist

Nico – ‘Chelsea Girl’ – Maybe a milion frozen Teutonic Princesses bloom.

Patti Smith – ‘Horses’ – Dya know how to pony?

Ramones – ‘Ramones’ – It bops

New York Dolls – ‘New York Dolls’ – Sez the former President of the Dolls fanclub.
