My Fave Tracks, Saturday August 14th, by Iman Lababedi

1. Rhapsody In Blue (Intro) – Brian Wilson
2. Right Hand On My Heart – The Whigs – Another band I had peged as rock ordinaire, but they were great on Leno Thursday night and this, an itune fave, works real good.
3. Hey Cool Kid – Cloud Nothings – Some year for these guys and an open door for all those Bridgetown bands. OMG, the vocals are way up in the mix!! What can it mean?
4. Hula-Hoop – Wavves – This sounds more like Cloud nothings than Nathan Williams: the voices are so low in the mix and the slap happy drums so high. Great song.
5. O Katrina – The Black Lips – I have every intention of seeing the movie tomorrow.
6. Goldskull – Miniature Tigers – I am prolly gonna miss em but Fortress is a fave album of the year and I will review soon.
7. See Me Now – Kanye West (feat Beyonce and Charlie Wilson ) – A joyful mess. Better than “Power”.
8. I Can’t See – Jack Phillips – It sez adult contemporary but if you think that’s a euphemism for MOR you haven’t heard this finely wrought, highly arranged ballad.
9. Mine – Taylor Swift
10. Teenage Thugs – Sonny And The Sunsets
