Jorge Garcia On Weezer Faves by Alyson Camus

Hurley’ Jorge Garcia, the future cover man for Weezer’s next album, gave his 5 Weezer songs to the Orange County weekly:
5. ‘Buddy Holly’ because it is the first one he heard
4. ‘(If you’re wondering if I want you to) I want you to’ because he finds the video hilarious
3. ‘Pink Triangle’ because it is a great story
2. ‘Beverly Hills’ because he likes sing-along songs
1. Hash Pipe’ because ‘the guitar riff is like Peter Gunn times a thousand’

And yes, he is excited to be on the cover, I just wonder who else is excited beside Rivers Cuomo.
Meanwhile, Weezer has revealed the track list of the upcoming album:

‘Memories’ (a high-energy rock song, the first single of the album)
‘Ruling Me’
‘Trainwrecks’
‘Unspoken’ (described as an acoustic power ballad)
‘Where’s My Sex?’ (described as having an insane amount of energy)
‘Run Away’ (described as a classic Weezer song and a collaboration with Ryan Adams)
‘Hang On’
‘Smart Girls’ (described as a classic Weezer song)
‘Brave New World’ (is it about Aldous Huxley?)
‘Time Flies’ (described as a 60’s influenced jam, co-written with Mac Davis)
Add to this ‘All My Friends Are Insects’, ‘Viva La Vida’, ‘I Want To Be Something’, and ‘Represent’ to the Deluxe Version.
Epitaph is saying it’s going to be the band’s return to Pinkerton, and Rivers declared to the LATimes: ‘On any Weezer record, I’m always trying to expand my palette. I think the most salient way I’m exploring new territory on “Hurley” is in the way I sing. I sang mostly the same way for many many years, but then recently in the “Hurley” sessions, I started getting excited about singing in different ways: like a crazy person, or like Gollum on one song, a forest gnome — and having fun.’

The Gollum? Could Rivers have gone with a creepier metaphor?
