Britney Spears To Actually APPEAR On Glee by Iman Lababedi

You’ve heard of the 24 hour news cycle?
Good. Now forget about it and welcome to the 24 hour life cycle. Everything is moving at the speed of sound. This morning’s new band is late last night’s hasbeens, and everybody, every life, is moving at hyper speed.
Brittney Spears, surely the most gifted post-Madonna Madonna wannabe, moved so fast even in the late 70s/early 00s, a slower paced time, that she went from tween star to slut to mom to headcase, to elder statesman in a heartbeat and is now… I dunno, lip synching superstar not to mention the first BIG NAME to actually appear on Glee Club.
Though, if there are superstars appearing on Glee might not there also be some sharks lying lengthwise somewhere.
It is a typical Spears moment, a year behind everybody else but she still manages to get herself one step ahead.
The argument i hear from my fellow travellers is… Spears doesn’t know anything, she is just a producers puppet. Palpable nonsense of course. If she can’t sing, isn’t a great dancer, is the definition of all that, even white trash, whatever else you wanna say about her… Blackout was still a personal expression wrapped in an ultimate dance groove. It was so great and so true it immediately brought her back from the edge of of the bottom of the top of the finishing end. It made her a grown up rock star and it gave her back her career. At the very least “Piece Of Me” stands as a definitive self-portrait.
But Glee? This from the woman who turned down “Telephone” (those who have heard Britney’s demo say it cuts Lady Gaga’s original). Talk about missing the zeitgeist by around a million miles.
Not every decision can be the right decision. The entire “Circus” tour, which I saw at the Prudential, was a little ho hum -woulda been even more ho hum if Gaga had hit before. The album was pretty damn good with “3” and “Womanizer” leading the way, and the Singles collection had four damn food remixes. Especially Paul Oakenfold’s “Gimme More”.
So let’s see where “Glee” leads Britney. In the 24 hour a day music cycle it doesn’t matter that much.
Oh and ps? Britney is worth a 100 Jack fucking Whites. I’m just saying.
