Monday Morning Playlist: Tell The Little Lambs I’ll Be Posting Soon by Iman Lababedi

So what does a music blog editor listen to when he hasn’t got his rock nyc hat on, you ask? Er, quite a bit the same as when he does, etc.

1. Mine – Taylor – That chorus? Hooked me from the first time I heard it.

2. I Can Change – LCD Soundsystem – My second fave track of the year so far, I had this as my alarm clock and wondered why I wask waking up depressed.

3. Our Whole Lives – The Hold Steady – “Yes, yes, yes gp the majorettes…” Every time I hear it I love a different part…. third best track og the year.

4. Rebellion (Lies) – Arcade Fire – Teenage insurrection where Wim and fans met up to point the finger at a different generation.

5. Under The Blue Skies – Dafni – There is a darkness to the blue, a trip not completed, masked in the lushly lovely melody.

6. Riley – Corin Tucker – An old out masterful rock highlight, once the guitar takes over all bets are off.

7. Don’t Break The Needle – “I’m just pulling threads doing all kinda evil…” Great rock metaphor and completely original.

8. Teenage Dream – Katy Perry – The one undisputable song I’ve heard on the newbie.

9. Chase The Tear – Portishead – Released last year with all profit going to Amnesty, as stunning a slice of deep English dub as ‘head have ever given us.Eight months later and still waiting for the album

10. One Life Stand – Hot Chip – Easily the highlight of the Summerstage set.

11. Call Earth – Noun – A piano based deep blue ecstasy.

12. Autumn Trees – I thought it was always sunny in Australia: it’s like the patter of rain on a grat afternoon.

13. So Rough – Noun – This is very riot grrrrl-just noticed that.

14. I Found Love – Shit Robot – Real dance for now people.
