At Transmission Festival, I was pretty excited to see I Set My Friends On Fire, especially after their member loss(who is an uncanny look-alike of someone I know).
Interested to see how they would hold up, they walked onto the stage and I was surprised. The guitarist was wearing one of those clear masks that obscures your face, so I had no idea who he was, yet the drummer was great.
As for the vocalist, he seemed a bit weak on his screams, but didn’t fail to impress with his voice.
Though I couldn’t help but notice that they seemed just a bit, well, …drunk. They were a wreck. Individually they were okay, but something was wrong when they put two and two together. Barking at the audience to dance, and threatening to ‘just stand here’ if they don’t generally wont get the crowd flying. A high energy band who seemed to be a bit off in their own place. Whatever it was, it was a disappointment.
I must say though that the ending crowd separation to create a ‘Wall of Death” was pretty awesome. Yelling at the crowd to “split split’ then once divided stating they had to split and walking of the stage. Nice laugh.
Better recorded.
Though, they have an AWESOME band name.
